BCSSA is pleased to announce the second stop on the Academy Outreach Tour, in Fort St John on January 9-10, 2016. The session will include long track ice and is coached by Arno Hoogveld from the Calgary Olympic Oval. Please see the attached announcement and registration form for more details. Note that skaters wishing to attend should scan/email their waivers to Chris Acton by January 2nd, 2016.

The 2015-2016 Athlete Development Committee Bulletin #3.0, which describes the process for skater qualification to the 2016-2017 Provincial Performance Program (PPP), has been released. Please carefully review the Bulletin, as the process for qualification has undergone significant changes as compared to previous seasons.

The BCSSA Coaching Development Committee is pleased to announce the coaches selected as Team BCSSA Coaches for 2015-2016. Please see the Team BCSSA Coaches webpage for more information.
Team BCSSA Coaches are available at all designated competitions to coach any BC-registered skater who wish to take advantage of their services (free of charge to the skaters). At select competitions (e.g. T2T age-class national championships), they will be the accredited coach for all BC-registered skaters.
Congratulations to all selected coaches. We wish you and Team BCSSA well at national events throughout the 2015-2016 season.

Congratulations to Courtney Shmyr (Langley) and Jamie MacDonald (Fort St James) being chosen to represent Canada November 13, 2015 at the Apolo Ohno Invitational Short Track in Salt Lake City. They will compete against teams from China, the Netherlands and the USA. Looking forward to you both having a great event.!!!!!!
Watch Josie Spence (Kamloops) represent Canada and skate at the season opener Long Track World Cup November 13-15, 2015 in Calgary. Josie will be skating in the 1500m, 3000m and Mass Start events. We are all cheering you on Josie!
The final version of the 2015-2016 BCSSA Competitions Bulletin has now been posted to the website. Note that there are minor changes from the “final draft” of the Bulletin. All changes have been noted in red text.

Congratulations to Jamie MacDonald (Fort St James) on her 1st World Cup Short Track speed skating medal - Silver – as part of the Canadian Women’s Relay team at the Montreal Short Track World Cup. Well done!!!!
